The rifle retains its military-pattern stock and hardware, including the full-length two-piece Type 99 stock configuration, handguard, barrel bands, sling swivels and military sights. It shows numerous dents, scratches, handling marks and other honest service/storage wear consistent with an original military rifle. A Japanese inspection/cartouche marking is visible in the wood. There are also several old holes/marks in the stock that are clearly shown in the photographs.

Metal surfaces retain a dark military finish with expected age and handling wear.
