The cap also bears an old hand-scratched inscription or ownership marking. The aluminum flask remains very clean overall with typical light handling marks and minor deformation. The brown felt cover remains unusually complete and retains its fastening hardware.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOf particular interest is the surviving long leather carrying strap and metal attachment hardware. The leather shows expected wartime and age-related wear including dryness, surface cracking, edge wear and deterioration to portions of the stitching, but remains substantially intact.
