Cold War U.S. Navy RT-101A/APS-31 Radar Receiver-Transmitter Assembly by Philco
Description:
Original U.S. Navy RT-101A/APS-31 Radar Receiver-Transmitter Assembly manufactured by Philco Corporation of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This large and impressive radar component was part of the AN/APS-31 airborne radar system used during the early Cold War era for navigation, detection, and aircraft radar applications.
The unit retains its original data plates identifying it as an RT-101A/APS-31 assembly and includes a vintage military serviceability tag dated 1957, adding desirable provenance and display appeal. Constructed with a heavy cast and machined housing, military-spec connectors, and sealed electronics compartment, this piece represents the advanced radar technology that evolved from WWII developments into the jet age.
Its substantial size, industrial appearance, and documented military service history make it an outstanding display piece for collectors of radar equipment, military electronics, aviation memorabilia, and Cold War technology. Large airborne radar assemblies such as this are becoming increasingly difficult to locate, especially with original identification plates and service tags still present.
Condition:
Original surplus condition showing storage wear, scratches, and dust from long-term storage. Untested and sold as a historical collectible/display item.
