WWII RT-27/APG-4 Airborne Radar Transmitter-Receiver Unit – 26 Volt DC Aircraft Radar Component

Original WWII-era RT-27/APG-4 airborne radar component, a scarce military electronics unit from the APG-4 radar system used in U.S. military aircraft. The front panel is clearly marked RT-27/APG-4 and 26 Volts DC and retains numerous original controls, antenna connections, relay output connector, battery input connector, fuse holders, calibration adjustments, and warning plate.

The unit features connections labeled for transmitter antenna, receiver antenna, relay output, battery input, and altitude compensation adjustments. Housed in its original black wrinkle-finish military case with rack-mount handles, this piece displays exceptionally well and represents an excellent example of early airborne radar technology.

Equipment from the APG-series radar systems played an important role in WWII aircraft detection, navigation, interception, and night-fighting operations. Original APG components are increasingly difficult to obtain and are highly sought after by collectors specializing in radar, aviation electronics, Signal Corps equipment, and military communications.
