Original Civil War era Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber imported by the well-known German maker and exporter Henry Boker of Solingen. Features the classic three-branch brass guard, leather grip with twisted wire wrap, and curved cavalry blade designed for mounted service. The ricasso is clearly marked “Henry Boker Solingen,” identifying this as a quality imported wartime saber.

The Model 1860 cavalry saber became the iconic edged weapon of Union mounted troops during the American Civil War and saw extensive battlefield use throughout the conflict. German-import examples such as this were widely purchased to supplement wartime demand and are highly collectible today.

This example remains in attractive untouched condition with a pleasing aged patina throughout. The blade retains much of its original surface with scattered age wear and light oxidation, while the hilt and grip remain solid with surviving original wire wrap. Includes original steel scabbard with suspension rings. A strong representative Civil War cavalry saber with desirable Solingen import markings.
