Winchester Model 1897 Pump Shotgun – Antique 1897 Production – 12 Gauge – 24” Barrel – Mechanically Functional

Manufactured in 1897 with a desirable four-digit serial number, this Winchester Model 1897 is an authentic first-year production example of one of America’s most iconic pump-action shotguns. Designed by John M. Browning, the Model 1897 saw service from the turn of the century through both World Wars and remains one of the most collectible American shotguns.

This example is a true antique that shows honest age and use. The metal has developed an attractive brown patina with scattered wear throughout. The barrel has been shortened to approximately 24 inches. The buttstock has a crack at the pistol grip, and the forend has been cracked and repaired with glue. The action cycles and the shotgun appears mechanically functional; however, due to its age, stock damage, and modifications, we do not recommend firing this firearm in its current condition. It is being offered primarily as a collector’s piece, restoration candidate, or historic display firearm.
