WWI U.S. Hospital Corps M1917 Service Coat
WWI U.S. Hospital Corps M1917 Service Coat
Original World War I U.S. Army Model 1917 Hospital Corps service coat constructed of olive drab wool. This classic “choker collar” tunic features the distinctive Hospital Corps collar disc paired with the standard “U.S.” collar disc, identifying it as worn by an enlisted member of the Army Medical Department. The M1917 service coat was the standard field and dress uniform worn by American soldiers serving both stateside and with the American Expeditionary Forces during the First World War.
This example retains its original brass eagle buttons and four-pocket configuration with pleated breast pockets and standing collar. Hospital Corps personnel played a vital role during the war, providing frontline medical care, operating field hospitals, ambulance services, and evacuation stations while serving alongside combat troops throughout France.
A desirable and increasingly difficult-to-find branch-specific WWI uniform, ideal for collectors of U.S. Army Medical Department, Hospital Corps, or Great War militaria. Displays well and represents an important piece of American military medical history.
Condition: Good original condition with expected age and service wear. Please review photos for complete condition details.
