WWII Army Air Force’s Grouping-Staff Sergeant John Jacejko Bronze Star, Original Documents, Pictures & Air Force Memorabilia
WWII Army Air Force’s Grouping-Staff Sergeant John Jacejko Bronze Star, Original Documents, Pictures & Air Force Memorabilia
Offered is an outstanding, historically significant named U.S. Army Air Forces and U.S. Air Force veteran grouping belonging to Staff Sergeant John Jacejko (ASN 33118626) of Portage, Pennsylvania. This collection spans from his World War II Army Air Forces service through later Air Force memorabilia accumulated during his lifetime.
The centerpiece is an original cased Bronze Star Medal, accompanied by an extensive archive of original wartime and postwar documents identifying Jacejko by name and Army serial number. While the Bronze Star was found with his personal effects, it is unnamed, and independent documentation confirming it was awarded specifically to him has not yet been located. It is therefore included as found with the estate.
Included in this collection:
- Original cased Bronze Star Medal
- Army Good Conduct Medal
- Named Army Air Forces paperwork to John Jacejko
- AAF Personal Affairs Statement
- Veterans Administration correspondence (1948)
- Original Veterans Administration mailing envelope
- Duty Assignment Card identifying:
- Staff Sergeant John Jacejko
- ASN 33118626
- Aircraft Maintenance Technician

- Additional Army Air Forces and Air Force insignia, ribbon bars, and pins
- Air Force commemorative “Blue Thunder” ring
- Vintage American Optical military-style aviator sunglasses
- Bausch & Lomb Ray-Ban Collector Series case
- U.S. Air Force crystal paperweight
- Air Force Zippo lighter
- Air Force patches and miscellaneous veteran memorabilia
Research from the included paperwork confirms that John Jacejko entered active duty on January 7, 1942 and served as an Army Air Forces Aircraft Maintenance Technician/Inspector, responsible for aircraft inspections, preflight certifications, and Technical Order compliance. These documents provide an excellent foundation for future research into his wartime service. Army Air Forces Bronze Star recipient records remain incomplete in publicly searchable databases, so the medal’s attribution cannot currently be confirmed.
This is an impressive and highly displayable named WWII Army Air Forces grouping that combines original documents, medals, insignia, and later Air Force memorabilia into a collection spanning more than half a century of military history. It would make an outstanding addition to any WWII, Army Air Forces, or U.S. Air Force collection.
Condition: Overall very good vintage condition with expected age, handling wear, and toning. Documents show normal folds and edge wear. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
