WWII U.S. Army AM-61/APG Indicator Amplifier – Galvin Mfg. Corp. – Aircraft Radar Component
Original WWII-era U.S. Army Signal Corps Indicator Amplifier AM-61/APG manufactured by Galvin Manufacturing Corporation (later Motorola) under 1944 military contract. Cylindrical airborne radar/electronics component used in conjunction with APG-series aircraft radar or gun-laying systems. Features original black wrinkle finish, Signal Corps data plate, sensitivity and boresight adjustments, and large military multi-pin connectors for integration into aircraft electronic systems.
The APG-series equipment was associated with advanced airborne radar and fire-control technology developed during WWII for fighters, bombers, and experimental aircraft applications. The rugged sealed cylindrical construction and adjustment markings for “Left-Right,” “Up-Down,” and “Bore Sight” strongly suggest use in radar alignment or targeting applications.
A visually striking and highly collectible WWII radar component ideal for aviation electronics collections, museum display, or restoration projects. Galvin/Motorola military electronics are increasingly sought after among advanced radar and SIGINT collectors.
