1929 German 20 Reichsmark Banknote-Waffen SS Totenkopf Ink Stamp

Original German 20 Reichsmark Reichsbanknote, dated 22 January 1929, issued during Germany’s Weimar Republic era and featuring industrialist and inventor Werner von Siemens.

The note bears serial number A·44631766 and retains the original brown and multicolor engraved design. The reverse features the familiar central worker portrait surrounded by allegorical industrial and agricultural imagery.

Of particular interest to militaria collectors is the large blue circular Waffen-SS / Totenkopf-style ink stamp applied to the left side of the face. These SS-marked currency pieces have circulated in the militaria collecting market for many years. Because similar stamps are known to have been applied to genuine period banknotes after the war, the stamp itself is offered as unverified and is not guaranteed to be a wartime SS application. The underlying Reichsbanknote is period original.

Condition is circulated, showing folds, handling wear, edge wear, staining and age toning consistent with the photographs. The note remains complete and displays very well, with strong printing and a clearly visible serial number and ink stamp.

A very interesting WWII-era German currency display piece, especially suited for a militaria or Third Reich currency collection.
