1944 Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler Portrait Postcard-Michener Special Cancel-Michel 865 Stamp

Original WWII-era German propaganda postcard featuring a formal portrait of Adolf Hitler in uniform. The reverse carries a 54+96 Reichspfennig semi-postal stamp, Michel #865, issued for the 11th anniversary of Hitler’s seizure of power. The stamp was officially released January 29, 1944. 

What makes this example more interesting is the clear München 2 – 30.1.44 cancellation with the slogan “Hauptstadt der Bewegung” (“Capital of the Movement”), referring to Munich’s symbolic status within the Nazi Party. The January 30 cancellation is directly tied to the anniversary commemorated by the stamp. Similar 1944 postal material with the same 54+96pf issue generally trades in the modest collectible range, although the combination of the Hitler portrait card, commemorative stamp, and strong Munich cancel improves desirability. 

The card appears to be in very good original condition, with light age toning/handling and handwritten notation on the reverse. The stamp and cancellation appear consistent with period use from the photographs.
