1947 Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant M44 Carbine – 7.62x54R – Folding Bayonet – Sling

Original Soviet Mosin-Nagant Model 1944 (M44) carbine, chambered in 7.62x54R and manufactured at the Izhevsk Arsenal in 1947. The barrel shank is clearly dated 1947 and displays the Izhevsk arrow-in-triangle arsenal marking, along with Soviet inspection/proof markings. The Izhevsk marking is correct for this period. 

This is the classic postwar M44 configuration with the permanently attached side-folding cruciform bayonet, approximately 20-inch barrel, tangent rear sight, five-round internal magazine and full-length military stock. The rifle retains its folding bayonet assembly and includes a military-style canvas/leather sling.

The rifle is in used, functional surplus condition. Metal surfaces show honest service/storage wear, finish thinning and patina consistent with a military surplus carbine. The stock shows handling marks and wear but remains attractive overall.

The original buttplate is currently removed and is included with the rifle, but the mounting screws are missing and will need to be sourced before installation. A replacement front sight assembly is also included, as pictured.
