1948 US Navy NAVSHIPS 91130 UHF Signal Generator LX-2 Technical Manual WWII Era
Original U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships Instruction Book for UHF Signal Generator Equipment, Navy Model LX-2, publication NAVSHIPS 91130.
The title page identifies the Washington Institute of Technology, Inc., Washington, D.C. and Bureau of Ships, Navy Department. The interior title page is marked “Approved by InsMat, Balto.: 19 Aug. 1948” and lists Contract NObsr-39308.
The LX-2 was a U.S. Navy UHF test signal generator originating from the WWII-era electronics program; a later Navy equipment reference confirms NAVSHIPS 91130 as the technical manual for the LX-2 and traces the equipment to wartime and immediate postwar contracts.
This example is housed in a later blue report binder for protection/storage. Pages show normal age, toning, handling wear, and some staining/marks visible in the photos. A nice specialized manual for collectors of WWII/postwar U.S. Navy electronics, radar, radio, test equipment, and military technical literature.
