A beautiful 1924 A.H. Fox Sterlingworth side-by-side shotgun, manufactured by the A.H. Fox Gun Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is the desirable long-barreled configuration commonly associated with the Sterlingworth Wildfowler, featuring 32-inch barrels choked Full/Full.

The shotgun features a boxlock action with double triggers, automatic-style top safety, splinter forearm, checkered pistol-grip stock, and the classic Sterlingworth configuration. The receiver displays vivid case colors and the barrels retain a strong dark finish. The stock is particularly attractive, with excellent figure through the butt and clean, well-defined checkering.

This example has been professionally restored/refinished at some point in its life. The case coloring has been redone and the stock has been refinished, so it should not be represented as retaining its original factory finishes. That said, the work presents extremely well and makes this a striking example for someone who wants a high-condition Fox that can still be enjoyed rather than an untouched collector-grade gun.

The 32-inch Full/Full configuration is especially appealing for the Fox enthusiast and evokes the heavy-waterfowl guns of the period.
