The long octagonal barrel is marked “D. Derr”, consistent with early American barrel makers / assemblers. Overall architecture and hardware are typical of the Pennsylvania / Mid-Atlantic school of rifles.
The rifle shows honest period wear throughout, with strong visual appeal and excellent wall-hanger or restoration potential.
