Antique Remington-Smoot No. 2 Revolver – .38 Rimfire – Functional Condition
Antique Remington-Smoot No. 2 Revolver – .38 Rimfire – Functional Condition
Offered here is an original antique Remington-Smoot revolver chambered in obsolete .38 Rimfire. Manufactured by Remington during the late 19th century, these solid-frame pocket revolvers represent an important chapter in the evolution of American cartridge handguns.
This example retains its original bird’s-head grip frame with hard rubber grip panels and displays the classic Remington-Smoot profile collectors look for. Barrel markings remain visible, including the Remington patent information. The revolver shows honest age, handling wear, and an attractive untouched patina consistent with its age.
Unlike many examples encountered today, this revolver remains mechanically functional. The action operates and the cylinder indexes properly. Original .38 Rimfire ammunition is obsolete and scarce, making this primarily a collector and display piece.
