Offered here is an original British Lee-Enfield No. 5 Mk I Jungle Carbine chambered in .303 British, presented in excellent surplus condition with matching serial numbers!

Developed during World War II, the No. 5 Mk I was designed as a shorter, lighter alternative to the standard Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle. Commonly referred to as the “Jungle Carbine,” this distinctive military rifle became associated with British and Commonwealth service in Southeast Asia and other postwar theaters.

This example retains the classic features associated with the original No. 5 Mk I, including its shortened military-style stock, distinctive flash hider, protected front sight, adjustable rear aperture sight, detachable box magazine, and rubber recoil pad.

The rifle is particularly desirable because of its matching serial numbers, an important consideration for collectors of British military firearms.

The metal surfaces retain a very attractive military finish, while the hardwood furniture displays beautiful coloration and honest service-related handling marks. Overall, this is a particularly attractive example of one of the most recognizable British military carbines of the 20th century.
