The hunting horn was one of the most recognizable bugler and light infantry symbols used during the American Civil War, appearing on hats, kepis, cartridge boxes, and equipment associated with infantry buglers and musicians. This example retains its distinctive horn shape and mounting posts on the reverse, displaying a rich aged patina consistent with long-term burial and recovery.
The piece remains in relic condition with expected wear, corrosion, and losses from age and ground recovery, making it an excellent display item for Civil War collectors, relic hunters, and military history enthusiasts. Mounted on display fabric and ready for presentation.
