Civil War Gettysburg Confederate Bayonet Battlefield Relic Dug Near Lee’s HQ Display
Offered is a Civil War battlefield relic display featuring a dug Confederate bayonet relic mounted on a rustic wooden presentation board.
The display plaque reads:
“Confederate Bayonet Battlefield Relic – Gettysburg – July 1863”
Included with the display is supporting provenance documentation showing correspondence from a previous owner indicating the bayonet was reportedly recovered approximately 30 years ago on private land near General Robert E. Lee’s headquarters area at Gettysburg.
The relic bayonet remains in excavated condition with expected oxidation, pitting, and surface loss from long-term burial. It is securely mounted to the display board and accompanied by Civil War-themed artwork and identification plaque.
