This is an original American Civil War artillery shell, believed to be either a Stafford or Eureka pattern projectile. The shell came from a collection identified as a Stafford/Eureka shell, though the exact pattern has not been definitively confirmed. Measuring approximately 8½ inches tall and roughly 2¾ inches in diameter, it is an impressive display piece from the Civil War era.

The projectile retains an attractive aged patina with a brass time fuse adapter still installed in the nose. It displays honest age and handling wear consistent with over 160 years of history. This example has been rendered inert, making it suitable for display in a Civil War collection.

Whether identified as a Stafford or Eureka pattern, this is a substantial artillery projectile that will appeal to collectors of Civil War ordnance and military relics.
