Cold War / Korean War Era RT-93/APN-11 Radar Transceiver Unit – U.S. Military Aircraft Radar Component
Original U.S. military RT-93/APN-11 radar transceiver unit, associated with the APN-11 airborne radar/navigation system used during the late WWII through Korean War era. Cylindrical pressurized construction with original black wrinkle finish, control markings, and surviving military acceptance/service tag dated 1955. Features frequency and code controls, antenna connections, and warning markings referencing internal air pressure and high voltage operation.
These APN-series radar units were used in advanced aircraft radar and navigation applications and represent early microwave/radar technology developed during and immediately after WWII. The heavy sealed cylindrical housing and pressure system were designed for reliable airborne operation at altitude.
An impressive and highly displayable piece of Cold War aviation electronics ideal for collectors of radar, avionics, Signal Corps equipment, or military aerospace technology. The surviving inspection/service tag adds excellent authenticity and display appeal.
