This is a factory Colt Model 1911 commemorative edition honoring the 2nd Battle of the Marne (one of the pivotal American engagements in WWI). Produced in the late 1960s (circa 1967–1968) as part of Colt’s limited WWI commemorative series. It comes beautifully mounted in its original gold-framed glass display case with historical artwork and battle description.
