Colt Woodsman First Series Sport Model .22 LR – 4½” Barrel

Classic Colt Woodsman First Series Sport Model semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, fitted with the desirable 4½-inch barrel. The early Woodsman pistols are among Colt’s most recognizable sporting .22s and have developed a strong collector following for their slender profile, excellent balance, and pre-war Colt craftsmanship.

This example retains its traditional blued finish with checkered walnut grips and fixed sights. The left side of the receiver is marked “COLT’S AUTOMATIC CAL. .22 LONG RIFLE” with the Rampant Colt trademark. The barrel carries the early two-line Colt Hartford address and patent dates ending September 3, 1918, consistent with First Series production.

Condition is good used, with substantial original-looking finish remaining. There are scattered scratches, handling marks, edge wear and areas of finish thinning appropriate for an older sporting pistol. The walnut grips show normal handling wear while retaining strong checkering. Overall, it has an attractive honest vintage appearance rather than looking refinished or heavily restored.
