Complete Polish Lim-5 (MiG-17F Variant) Fighter Jet Project - All Parts Present, Wings Removed - Trades Preferred!
For trade (cash offers considered): Exceptional opportunity to acquire a fully inventoried Polish Air Force Lim-5 fighter jet project—license-built MiG-17F variant. This is a genuine Cold War interceptor with all major components present, including the detached wings (stored separately for transport/storage), making it far more complete than typical fuselage-only barn-finds.
Key details:
• Origin & Markings: Polish-built Lim-5 (WSK-Mielec factory), original Polish Air Force red-and-white checkerboard insignia on tail and fuselage. Classic two-tone camouflage (light blue undersides, tan/green/brown topside) with authentic patina from service and storage.
• What’s Included:
• Full fuselage (~37 ft long) from nose to tail, with cockpit tub, canopy frame, instrument panel remnants, wiring, oxygen systems, and control linkages.
• Detached wings (complete with leading edges, flaps, ailerons, and hardpoints).
• Tail assembly (vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizers).
• Engine bay with afterburner section, exhaust nozzle, intake trunking, and mounts (no engine, but hardware intact).
• Landing gear struts/wheels (partial/removed for storage).
• Cockpit avionics/instruments (gauges, panels, harnesses—many labeled in Polish/Cyrillic).
• Various sub-assemblies, panels, and hardware scattered but accounted for.
• Condition: Stored indoors (barn/shed environment), with surface rust, weathering, and honest patina typical of demilled military surplus. No live ordnance, classified items, or major structural failures visible—appears demilled and ready for restoration to static display, museum quality, film prop, or even airworthy with significant work (engines, avionics, etc., would need sourcing). Solid candidate for a dedicated restorer—many similar Lim-5 projects have been revived this way.
Specs (standard Lim-5/MiG-17F):
• Length: ~37 ft (11.26 m)
• Wingspan: ~31.5 ft (9.63 m)
• Original role: Transonic day fighter/interceptor (Mach 0.93 level flight, supersonic in dive)
• Powerplant bay: Klimov VK-1F afterburning turbojet (afterburner-equipped)
This is a rare, complete Warsaw Pact jet project—ideal for collectors, aviation museums, military vehicle enthusiasts, or restorers with space and expertise. Located in Keyser, West Virginia (local pickup/transport required; fuselage on cradles, wings separate—flatbed/trailer setup needed).
Primarily seeking trades for:
• High-value firearms (modern/tactical rifles, pistols, NFA/Class III items, collectible military rifles/machine guns, suppressors, etc.)
• Other military vehicles/equipment (APCs, tanks, Jeeps, Humvees, helicopters, artillery, surplus armor, or aviation-related items)
