East German (DDR) Toy Soldiers in Original Box-VEB Spielzeugland

Original Cold War-era East German toy soldier set manufactured by VEB Spielzeugland Effelder, a state-owned toy producer in the former German Democratic Republic (DDR/East Germany). The original box label identifies the contents as “Soldat” (Soldier) and indicates a packaged quantity of 10 figures. The set appears to contain approximately 13 figures, including several variants armed with rifles and submachine guns.

These hand-painted plastic figures represent East German military toy production during the Communist era and are becoming increasingly difficult to find with their original packaging intact. Unlike Western toy soldiers from Britains, Timpo, or Marx, East German examples were produced in far smaller numbers and were primarily distributed within the Eastern Bloc.
