Elisabeth Barnbrock 1936 NS-Frauenschaft Dispute Archive-Hamburg-Wellingbuttel-Named WWII German Document Group

Interesting original prewar and wartime German document archive relating to Elisabeth Barnbrock of Hamburg-Wellingsbüttel, centered around a documented 1936 dispute involving the local NS-Frauenschaft.

The most historically interesting material in the group concerns a disagreement between Barnbrock and a woman identified as Frau Behrens, who appears to have held a leadership position within the local NS-Frauenschaft organization.

Included is a handwritten document dated 13 November 1936 in which Barnbrock discusses the dispute and her position in the matter. In the document, she states that she had belonged to the NS-Frauenschaft since June 1933 and requests that the disagreement be formally addressed.

Also included is an official NSDAP / NS-Frauenschaft Gau Schleswig-Holstein document dated 12 December 1936, summoning parties in the “Behrens–Barnbrock” matter before a Schlichtungsausschuss, or conciliation/arbitration committee. This document gives the group considerably more context than an isolated membership or identification paper and provides direct evidence of an internal organizational dispute.

The archive also contains later identification material associated with Elisabeth Barnbrock, including postwar/occupation-era documentation that helps establish the identity and continuity of the woman represented in the earlier papers.
