Essex Arms / Colt 1911 Government Model .45 ACP – Colt Slide & Upper

Custom/composite Government-size 1911 chambered in .45 ACP, built on an Essex Arms Corp. Island Pond, Vermont frame with a Colt-manufactured slide and upper assembly. The slide carries the classic Colt patent and Hartford markings on the left side and “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY” on the right.

The pistol presents in good used condition with particularly attractive, clean bluing. It retains the traditional 1911 configuration with fixed sights, checkered brown grips, spur hammer and standard controls. There is some normal handling and use wear consistent with a shooter-grade pistol, but overall presentation is quite nice.

This is not being represented as an original Colt military 1911; the serialized receiver/frame is Essex manufacture, while the slide/upper is Colt. An appealing period-style 1911 for someone wanting the classic Colt appearance without original-USGI pricing.
