Essex Arms / WWII Ithaca 1911A1 .45 ACP – Ithaca Slide & Upper

Government-size 1911 chambered in .45 ACP, assembled on an Essex Arms Corp. Island Pond, Vermont receiver/frame and fitted with an Ithaca Gun Co. slide/upper assembly. The slide is correctly marked “ITHACA GUN CO., INC. / ITHACA, N.Y.”, making the Ithaca components particularly interesting to WWII 1911A1 collectors.

The pistol retains the classic military configuration with fixed sights, spur hammer, checkered brown grips and traditional controls. The Ithaca slide shows a gray/parkerized-style finish while the Essex frame has a darker finish, giving the pistol the appearance of a period parts-built military 1911. Overall condition is good used with normal handling and finish wear visible in the photos.

This is not being represented as an original WWII Ithaca M1911A1. The serialized receiver is Essex manufacture; its collector interest comes primarily from the genuine Ithaca-marked upper/slide and other potentially USGI components.
