H. Pieper Belgium Hammer Double Combination Gun – 12 Gauge / .38-55

Interesting and uncommon Belgian-made H. Pieper exposed-hammer combination gun, configured with a 12-gauge shotgun barrel alongside a .38-55 rifle barrel. The locks are clearly marked “H. PIEPER – BELGIUM.”

This is an attractive old sporting combination gun with side-by-side barrels, exposed hammers, double triggers, checkered pistol-grip stock and splinter-style forearm. The rifle barrel is fitted with a rear sight, making this a true dual-purpose sporting arm rather than a conventional double shotgun.

Condition is good used condition for its age, retaining an appealing untouched antique appearance. Metal surfaces show considerable thinning of the original finish, patina, spotting and age-related wear. The walnut shows handling marks and finish wear consistent with an old sporting gun. There is a small crack in the pistol-grip/wrist area of the buttstock, clearly shown in the photographs. Overall it presents very well for its age and would make an unusual addition to a collection of early European sporting arms or combination guns.
