Here is an exceptional inert German Geballte Ladung grenade, a field-modified variant of the iconic Model 24 Stielhandgranate, famously known as the "potato masher." This unique example features a central wooden handle stamped with "42," indicating production in 1942—a pivotal year on the Eastern Front—bundled with six additional inert grenade heads, wired together in the classic Geballte Ladung configuration. Professionally demilitarized to ensure safety and compliance with modern regulations, this artifact offers a tangible connection to the ingenuity and desperation of wartime tactics.

The Geballte Ladung was not a factory-made weapon but an improvised creation by German soldiers, designed to amplify the M24’s explosive power. By attaching six extra grenade heads (each originally containing 170 grams of TNT) around a complete stick grenade, troops transformed a standard anti-personnel device into a formidable tool for demolishing fortifications or challenging armored vehicles like the Soviet T-34. This inert version, likely crafted for training or preserved as a historical relic, showcases the rugged craftsmanship of the era, complete with a legible "42" marking on the 35.6 cm wooden handle.
