Ishapore SMLE No. 1 Mk III* .410 Musket – 1949 Indian Military Conversion

Ishapore-manufactured SMLE No. 1 Mk III* converted to .410 shotgun configuration. Receiver markings show the Ishapore crest, “G.R.I.,” “Ishapore,” 1949 date and SMLE III* designation. These distinctive military shotguns were produced in India using the Lee-Enfield action, making them an interesting variation for Enfield and military-arms collectors. This example retains its full-length military wood furniture, sights, sling and distinctive .410 configuration.

Excellent used condition for its age. Metal finish remains strong overall and the wood is particularly attractive with normal handling and service marks. There are several filled/repaired areas visible in the forearm, consistent with its military history. Overall, a very nice-presenting example of an unusual postwar Ishapore Enfield variant.
