Japanese Type 99 Arisaka 7.7 Japanese – Intact Mum – WWII Military Rifle

Japanese Type 99 Arisaka bolt-action military rifle chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, retaining the highly desirable intact Imperial Chrysanthemum (“mum”) on the receiver. The mum is one of the first things collectors look for on Japanese service rifles, as many were ground or defaced following Japan’s surrender.

This example remains in its military configuration with full-length wood stock and handguard, military sights, front barrel band and sling hardware. The stock shows substantial genuine service wear, including scattered dents, scratches, staining and handling marks, giving the rifle a very honest WWII surplus appearance rather than the look of a heavily refinished example.

The bolt is serial-number mismatched to the rifle, which should be clearly noted for collectors, but it operates normally and the action is reported as completely functional. The bore is in fair condition, showing some light pitting but retaining strong, clearly defined rifling.
