This is an authentic British Rifle No. 5 Mk I “Jungle Carbine”, manufactured at Royal Ordnance Factory (F) Fazakerley in June 1946 (6/46). Serial number W 4258. These shortened, lightened Enfields were designed for jungle warfare in the Pacific and Asia theaters — compact, fast-handling, and legendary for their balance.

Famous for its “wandering zero” reputation (due to light weight and short barrel), but still a favorite among collectors and shooters for its quick pointability and reliability.
Condition:
Very good original condition for a 1946 example. Strong markings, solid wood with nice grain and color, tight action, and typical honest wartime/post-war patina. Bore appears clean from visible photos. A solid, collectible Jungle Carbine with desirable early post-war Fazakerley production.
