Named U.S. Military Olive Drab Field Cap-“D.Hangey”-c. 1950’s-1960’s
Named U.S. Military Olive Drab Field Cap-“D.Hangey”-c. 1950’s-1960’s
Vintage U.S. military olive drab field cap with a stiff cylindrical crown and short visor, retaining its original interior supplier label and handwritten name identification.
The cap is constructed from olive drab cotton fabric with multiple rows of stitching to the visor and a reinforced band around the lower crown. The interior retains its original yellow/red “PENTOMIC – Military Post Suppliers” cloth label, a nice period detail that helps identify it as a commercially supplied military uniform item rather than a modern fashion reproduction.
Also present inside is a handwritten identification reading:
“D. HANGEY”
The cap is in very good vintage condition overall. The olive drab fabric remains strong with light age toning, minor soiling, small handling marks, and expected wear from use and storage. Stitching appears intact and the visor retains good shape. The interior label is still present and readable.
Based on the construction and “Pentomic” branding, I would describe this as a Cold War-era U.S. military field/utility cap, likely dating from approximately the late 1950s through 1960s, rather than WWII.
