Korean War Era U.S. Army Infantry School Dress Green Uniform Set – Staff Sergeant
Korean War Era U.S. Army Infantry School Dress Green Uniform Set – Staff Sergeant
For sale is an authentic Korean War-era U.S. Army Dress Green Uniform set, consisting of an Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) jacket and matching trousers, belonging to a Staff Sergeant assigned to the U.S. Army Infantry School. This dark green polyester-wool jacket features the Infantry School patch on the right shoulder—a blue shield with a white sword and the motto “Follow Me”—along with Infantry branch insignia (crossed rifles) on the collar. The sleeves display three chevrons with two rockers, indicating the rank of Staff Sergeant, from the early 1950s, a period following the Korean War (1950–1953). The jacket includes a ceremonial aiguillette, suggesting a formal role such as an instructor or honor guard at Fort Benning, and a robust ribbon set: National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. A Marksmanship Badge with a “Rifle” clasp indicates qualification as a marksman.
In good condition for its age, the uniform shows minor wear, including light fading, creasing, and a small hole on the back, but the chevrons, patch, ribbons, and aiguillette are original and intact. The trousers complete the set as it would have been worn. Perfect for collectors of Korean War-era militaria, especially those interested in the Infantry School’s role in training soldiers for the conflict, or for display as a testament to the leadership and training that shaped the U.S. Army’s infantry forces.
