Own a piece of WWII history with this U.S. Army service dress jacket, commonly known as an “Ike jacket,” worn by a Sergeant in the China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater. Dating to the 1940s, this jacket is a rare find for collectors and reenactors. Sized 35S (approximately Small/Short), it offers a tailored fit for display or wear.

Crafted from olive drab wool, this jacket features the classic WWII design with shoulder epaulets, chest pockets, and a belted waist for a sharp, military look. The left shoulder displays the CBI Theater patch, showcasing a blue circle with a white star, a Nationalist Chinese sun, and Union Jack elements—a symbol of the joint Allied operations in the region, including campaigns like the Burma Road and Ledo Road. The right shoulder bears a U.S. Army patch, while both sleeves feature Sergeant rank chevrons with three upward stripes, rendered in gold-on-blue embroidery. Three gold service stripes on the left sleeve indicate 18 months of overseas service, and a Ruptured Duck patch above the left pocket signifies the wearer’s honorable discharge from WWII service, adding a personal touch to this historical piece.

This jacket is in good vintage condition, showing signs of wear with small moth holes, minor fabric degradation, and light staining, particularly on the front and back (see photos for details). Despite the wear, it remains structurally intact, with the interior lining well-preserved and all original U.S. Army buttons in place. Perfect for a military collection or historical reenactments, this CBI Theater jacket with its Ruptured Duck patch is a tangible link to the bravery and sacrifice of U.S. soldiers in one of WWII’s lesser-known fronts. Don’t miss your chance to own this remarkable piece of American military heritage.
