For sale is an authentic WWII U.S. Army Service Dress Jacket, commonly known as an “Ike jacket,” belonging to a Sergeant from the Advanced Section, Communications Zone, European Theater of Operations (ADSEC). This olive drab wool jacket, in size 36R, features the ADSEC patch on the right shoulder—a red circle with a white star and blue lightning bolt—marking its critical role in logistical support during the European Theater. ADSEC managed supply lines, transportation, and communications for U.S. forces from the Normandy invasion through the end of the war, ensuring frontline units received essential supplies like fuel, ammunition, and food. The left sleeve displays three chevrons, indicating the rank of Sergeant, a non-commissioned officer who likely played a leadership role in this vital logistical unit. The jacket also bears the “Ruptured Duck” patch on the chest, a symbol of honorable discharge awarded to soldiers returning to civilian life after WWII.

In good condition for its age, this jacket shows minor wear around the edges but has no significant tears or damage. The patches and insignia are original and intact, making this a well-preserved piece of history from a soldier who contributed to the Allied victory through logistical support in one of the most significant conflicts of the 20th century. Perfect for collectors of WWII militaria, especially those interested in the unsung heroes of the European Theater’s supply chain, or for display as a testament to the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation.
