Own a piece of WWII history with this U.S. Army service dress jacket, commonly known as an “Ike jacket,” worn by a Sergeant in the 81st Infantry Division, later known as the 81st Readiness Division. Dating to the 1940s, this jacket is a rare find for collectors and reenactors. Sized 36S (approximately Small/Short), it offers a tailored fit for display or wear.

Crafted from olive drab wool, this jacket features the classic WWII design with shoulder epaulets, chest pockets, and a belted waist for a sharp, military look. The right shoulder displays the 81st Infantry Division patch, featuring a black cat in a green circle—a symbol of the division’s service in the Pacific Theater, including the capture of Angaur and Peleliu Islands, and later adopted by the 81st Readiness Division. The left shoulder patch is missing, likely originally a U.S. Army patch. Both sleeves feature Sergeant rank chevrons with three upward stripes, rendered in gold-on-blue embroidery. Three gold service stripes on the left sleeve indicate 18 months of overseas service, and a Ruptured Duck patch above the left pocket signifies the wearer’s honorable discharge from WWII service, adding a personal touch to this historical piece.

This jacket is in very good condition, with the wool exterior showing minimal wear and no significant damage, though there is slight fading consistent with its age (see photos for details). The interior lining is intact, and all original U.S. Army buttons remain in place. Perfect for a military collection or historical reenactments, this 81st Infantry Division jacket with its Ruptured Duck patch is a tangible link to the bravery and sacrifice of U.S. soldiers in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Don’t miss your chance to own this remarkable piece of American military heritage.
