NOS WWII U.S. Navy AN/APS-2 Aircraft Radar Blower Motor Assembly – Boxed Spare Part
Original New Old Stock WWII U.S. Navy aircraft radar spare part, complete in its original Philco Corporation shipping box. The box is clearly labeled for AN/APS-2 Aircraft Radar Equipment and identifies the contents as a Blower Motor Assembly.
The original label reads:
- Equipment Spare Parts for U.S. Navy Aircraft Radar Equipment
- Model AN/APS-2
- Philco Corporation, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Symbol No. B-201
- Blower Motor Assembly
- 24 Volt, 4700 RPM
The motor itself is manufactured by A.G. Redmond Company of Owosso, Michigan, a well-known supplier of electric motors and aircraft components during World War II. The data plate remains present and legible, and the unit appears to retain its original finish and wiring.
AN/APS-2 radar equipment was among the early airborne radar systems employed by the U.S. Navy during World War II for maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare, and airborne search operations. Original boxed radar components from these systems are increasingly difficult to locate and are highly desirable to collectors of military electronics, radar history, aviation artifacts, and museum displays.
The assembly remains housed in its original period box and displays exceptionally well as a complete untouched radar spare.
