Offered is an original German political commemorative badge dated 1932, produced during the final year of the Weimar Republic before the Nazi Party came to power. The obverse features a profile portrait of Horst Wessel, an early SA member whose death in 1930 was later used extensively in Nazi propaganda. Surrounding the portrait is the inscription “Kampftag 1932” (“Battle Day 1932”), commemorating one of the political memorial events held in his honor.

The reverse is maker marked:

L. CHR. BAUER
NÜRNBERG – BERLIN

and bears the RZM M9/3 manufacturer’s designation. It retains its original horizontal pin assembly, with the pin and catch remaining intact and functional. The badge displays an attractive aged patina with honest wear from age while retaining sharp details to the portrait, lettering, and reverse markings.

As a dated 1932 example, this badge represents a transitional period in German political history and is sought after by collectors of original pre-war German militaria and historical artifacts. It serves as a historical collectible documenting the political climate of Germany during the final years of the Weimar Republic. It is offered strictly as a historical artifact with no endorsement of the ideology it represents.
