Offered here is an original British Pattern 1853 Enfield socket bayonet, complete with its original scabbard, as used extensively during the American Civil War.

 

These bayonets were imported in large numbers by both Union and Confederate forces for use with the .577 caliber Enfield rifle-musket, making them a true Civil War battlefield piece.
