Original Israeli IMI “Tacham 14” Inert Training Rocket for B-300 Anti-Tank Launcher – 1989 Production
For sale is a rare and authentic piece of military history: an original Israeli Military Industries (IMI) “Tacham 14” inert training rocket, designed for use with the B-300 anti-tank launcher system. This training round, marked with “תחמ 14” (Tacham 14, meaning “Ammunition 14” in Hebrew) and “תמ”ס” (Tamas, indicating IMI production), dates to 1989, as indicated by the “89-1” batch marking. The B-300, developed by IMI in the late 1970s, was a reusable man-portable anti-tank weapon system used by the IDF to engage enemy armor and fortified positions, and this training rocket would have been used to train IDF soldiers in handling and loading procedures.
Constructed from rubber (warhead tip) and plastic (body and fins), this inert round is completely safe and non-functional, designed specifically for training purposes. It measures approximately 20 inches in length with a warhead diameter of around 60mm, making it smaller than typical RPG-7 rounds and consistent with the B-300’s 82mm system (scaled down for training). The rocket features a conical rubber warhead tip, a cylindrical plastic body with stabilizing fins, and clear Hebrew markings, adding to its authenticity and historical value. The condition is very good, with minor wear and staining from handling, but all components, including the fins and warhead tip, remain intact.
The B-300 was a key weapon in the IDF’s arsenal during the 1980s and 1990s, often compared to the Soviet RPG-7 but with distinct Israeli design features, such as its 82mm rockets and versatile warhead options (HEAT for anti-tank and HEFT for fortifications). This training round would have been used by IDF special forces or infantry units to simulate the loading and handling of live B-300 rockets, which had an effective range of 400 meters. A must-have for collectors of Israeli military artifacts, Cold War-era militaria, or anti-tank weapon systems, this piece offers a tangible connection to the IDF’s operational history.
