Original WWII German Gold Grade Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold) – Klein & Quenzer Second Pattern
Original WWII German Gold Grade Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold) – Klein & Quenzer Second Pattern
Original WWII German Gold Grade Wound Badge, second pattern, manufactured by the highly collectible firm of Klein & Quenzer A.G. This example features the classic steel helmet over crossed swords design surrounded by an oak leaf wreath, representing multiple combat wounds received in service.
The reverse retains its original pin and catch assembly and is maker marked with the distinctive Klein & Quenzer “65” code. The badge displays honest age and wear with much of the original gold finish having faded over time, leaving an attractive veteran-patinated appearance favored by many collectors.
A desirable original combat decoration from the Third Reich period and a solid addition to any German medal or militaria collection.
