Original WWII German Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 – Maker Marked “75”
Original WWII German Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 – Maker Marked “75”
Offered is an original WWII German Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse 1939) featuring a magnetic iron core with black finish and silvered frame. The medal retains strong eye appeal with a well-defined swastika and “1939” date on the obverse.
The suspension ring is maker marked “75”, identifying production by Walter & Henlein, Gablonz an der Neiße, a recognized wartime manufacturer of Iron Crosses and military awards. The ring also appears to bear an EK2-style marking, as shown in the photographs.
The piece displays honest age and handling wear consistent with an original wartime award. The black core finish remains attractive and the silver frame retains good detail throughout.
A desirable original combat decoration awarded to German servicemen for acts of bravery in battle or military merit under fire.
Condition:
- Original wartime construction
- Maker marked “75” on suspension ring
- Magnetic iron core
- Good black core finish remaining
- Light age and handling wear
