Original WWII German Luftwaffe 2nd Model Officer’s Dagger manufactured by SMF, Solingen, complete with its original-style scabbard, officer’s suspension hangers, and silver portepee.

This is an exceptionally attractive example featuring a beautiful deep orange celluloid grip with intact twisted wire wrap. The pommel retains excellent oak-leaf detail surrounding the swastika, while the distinctive Luftwaffe eagle crossguard remains crisp and well defined.

The double-edged blade remains exceptionally bright and clean for its age and is clearly marked with the SMF seated-king trademark over “SMF SOLINGEN,” along with the small acceptance/proof marking above the maker logo.

The dagger is accompanied by its finely pebbled metal scabbard with decorative oak-leaf suspension bands and matching lower fitting. Also included is a complete set of Luftwaffe officer’s hangers featuring silver-gray woven straps, decorated metal fittings, and D.R.G.M.-marked hardware. The silver officer’s portepee remains tied around the hilt and completes the impressive appearance of the ensemble.

Overall condition is excellent, particularly the grip, blade, scabbard, and detailed fittings. The suspension hangers exhibit some expected age and wear to the leather components, consistent with an original period-used set.
