Original WWII German Luftwaffe AK 39 Pilot’s Wrist Compass – Fl. 23235 with Leather Strap

Original WWII German Luftwaffe AK 39 Armbandkompass (wrist compass) issued for use by Luftwaffe aircrew. The AK 39 was designed as a compact aviation navigation and emergency compass that could be worn on the wrist or over flight clothing, making it an important piece of German WWII flight equipment.

The compass retains its black housing, clear rotating bezel, black dial with highly visible yellow numerals and markings, red north indicator, and directional needle. The face remains exceptionally clean and attractive.

This example is particularly desirable because it retains its complete black leather wrist strap and metal buckle, components frequently missing from surviving examples. The leather remains supple and displays well, showing only expected age and handling wear.

Overall, the compass is in excellent condition for its age, with strong markings, an exceptionally clean dial, and only minor storage and handling wear. The compass has not been professionally tested for directional accuracy and is offered as a historical collectible.
