Original WWII German NSDAP Stellenleiter Ortsgruppe Political Leader Collar Tabs-Matching Pair 1936-1939

Original WWII-era German NSDAP Political Leader collar tabs, identified as a matching pair for a Stellenleiter at the Ortsgruppe (local-group) level. The combination of the light-brown wool field, distinctive light-blue piping, and single L-shaped silver tress corresponds to the Ortsgruppe Stellenleiter pattern. Reference examples date this configuration to approximately 1936–1939. 

The most distinctive feature is the broad silver-colored L-shaped rank tress applied to each tab. On close examination, the metallic braid incorporates a repeating swastika pattern—approximately six visible swastikas on each of these examples. This patterned political-leader tress was used as part of the NSDAP rank system, with the single L-shaped arrangement identifying the Stellenleiter position. The light-blue cord around the perimeter denotes the Ortsgruppe/local organizational level. 

Both tabs retain their light-brown wool facing and blue perimeter piping. The reverse sides exhibit period-style folded construction, stitching and stiff internal backing. Remnants of blue attachment thread are still present, strongly suggesting that the tabs were removed from a uniform rather than being unused examples.

The Stellenleiter, roughly translated as “department leader” or “office/section leader,” was a political-leadership position within the NSDAP organization. These insignia were part of the Party political uniform system rather than German military or Luftwaffe insignia. The NSDAP used different collar-tab colors and piping to identify organizational levels; light brown with light-blue piping was associated with the local Ort/Ortsgruppe level. 

Condition is good original used condition, showing considerable age and uniform wear. The brown wool exhibits discoloration and fading, while the metallic swastika-pattern tress has darkened and lost some of its original brightness. The blue piping remains particularly visible. The reverse shows wear, exposed backing material, loose/cut attachment threads and other evidence of removal from a uniform. The pair has an attractive, untouched appearance and has not been cleaned or restored.
