Original WWII German NSKOV Official Envelope-War Victims Care Organization

An original World War II-era official envelope from the Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung (NSKOV), the National Socialist War Victims’ Care Organization. This authentic period envelope bears the printed insignia and return address of the Gau Halle-Merseburg regional office, located at Platz der SA 10, Halle (Saale), Germany.

The NSKOV was one of the largest social welfare organizations in Nazi Germany, established to provide assistance and administrative support for disabled veterans, wounded servicemen, war widows, and the families of fallen soldiers. Official stationery from the organization was used for correspondence regarding pensions, disability benefits, membership matters, and other wartime administrative affairs.

This example features the organization’s distinctive printed emblem with the Iron Cross and swastika within an oak leaf wreath, along with the complete office designation for the Halle-Merseburg Gau. While empty, original organizational envelopes such as this are increasingly difficult to locate, as most were discarded after use.
