Original WWII U.S. Navy PT Boat “Mosquito Fleet” Crew Patch

Original World War II-era U.S. Navy PT Boat patch featuring the classic “Mosquito Fleet” motif, with winged mosquitoes riding a torpedo/projectile over a stylized lower design. This imagery was closely associated with U.S. Navy Motor Torpedo Boat service during WWII and was used on a variety of PT Boat-related insignia and unofficial crew patches.

This example is constructed on black felt with heavy white embroidery and a white stitched border. The reverse shows exposed period-style stitching with no modern plastic backing. It has clear age and use, including scattered loose threads, edge wear, and some embroidery loss toward the lower portion, all consistent with an older original piece.
