Interesting personalized U.S. military field canteen/mess cup featuring a hand-painted camouflage finish and period-style Gothic lettering.

The front is marked:

“BGen. J.P. Knott
C.G. MCB
Jun ’85 – May ’86”

The markings appear to commemorate Brigadier General J.P. Knott’s tenure as Commanding General of an MCB-related command from June 1985 through May 1986. The exact command and officer attribution have not been independently verified, so the piece is being offered based on the markings present.

The cup retains its folding metal handle and shows normal age, handling wear, scratches, finish loss, and other signs of military use. The personalized camouflage paint and general-officer inscription make this a much more unusual display piece than a standard military canteen cup.
